What you need from an emergency visit
Fault checked before action
We identify what has actually failed before deciding how to regain entry or secure the door.
Access handled with care
The aim is to restore entry without losing sight of the condition and security of the lock.
Secure before we leave
If the entrance has failed, we focus on leaving it usable and properly secured again.
Urgent help when access or security has failed
A lockout or failed entrance usually needs sorting quickly and calmly. When you contact The Key Hole Surgery, we start by finding out where you are, what kind of door or lock is involved, whether you are locked out and whether the property can still be secured. We then attend as a mobile emergency locksmith for lost or stolen keys, keys snapped in locks, jammed mechanisms and doors that will not lock back up properly.

Focused on access first, then security
Urgent call-outs are about restoring entry and making the property secure, not turning a fault into a sales conversation. With The Key Hole Surgery, we assess the problem first, work out the safest way to regain access, and check the entrance can be left secure before we go. If the issue points to wear or a bigger change, we explain that clearly, but the first job in an emergency is to deal with what has failed right now.
Frequently asked questions
What should I tell you in an emergency?
Please tell us the property address, the type of door or lock, whether you are inside or outside, and if the entrance can still be secured. If a key has snapped or security has been compromised, say that straight away so we can prepare for the visit.
Can you help if a key has snapped in the lock?
Yes. We first check whether the broken key is the main issue or if the lock has failed as well. That matters because a snapped key can be part of a wider fault, and the aim is not only to regain access but to leave the entrance locking properly again.
Is this the right service for planned lock changes?
Not usually. This page is for urgent entry or immediate security problems. If you can still use the door and want better key control or new hardware, a planned lock change or upgrade is normally the better route.
